a pet peeve

i don’t mean to rise up from my semi-nonblogging existence with a gripe. but that is what i’m doing. sometimes you just need to put a gripe out there to the world in an effort to get over it. so here goes. it drives me nuts to pick up a six pack of beer that sits in a carrier of a different brand. that is all. carry on.
a few things
i took last week off from work and enjoyed:
- warm and sunny days all week
- watching the city of troy bloom
- chatting with a sassy senior in the alley
- riding the veggie mobile to schenectady
- repotting my plants
- cocktails with a buddy in the concrete backyard
- skfl’s birthday dinner and being honored to be at the loudest table in the restaurant
- grilled sausages with my folks
- not really taking any photos or blogging
- a few awful/awesome chick flicks
- new walking sneakers and being able to put the old ones to rest
'tis the season

the snow man in troy is open and this city is thrilled to bits! (or should i say jimmies?) good ice cream joints are where it’s at, and because i rarely eat the stuff i want only the best. but while i was enjoying a small soft serve vanilla chocolate twist, i couldn’t help but think about a more recent favorite place for the stuff in a nearby town. will skfl, mae and i have to make a tour of ice cream stands in the area and document the process? that could be fun, fattening, and sinus infection inducing. and while my health insurance starts today (!!!), i need to lose a few in the middle to fit into that vintage wedding dress before alterations begin in a few weeks.
signs of life

the chives snuck up on us and i’m glad they are back. it’s so nice to see spring in bloom. people are cheery, the air feels wonderful and we are in full de-cluttering mode at home. that’s about all i’ve got at this point. i’m taking the week off, my mind is mush, and i wouldn’t have it any other way.
